    Cost of Tube

Is it just me, or does $7.00 seem like too much for a tube? My local shop charges $7.00 for all of their basic tubes (presta or schrader); they are not even in a box. I usually stock up on tubes in case I run out, but on occasion will need one on short notice. Just curious.

Yes. That seems like a lot for a tube.

$2-$4 gets you a pack of Park Speed Patches. I see people throwing away good tubes that could be fixed in less than a minute with a simple Speed Patch-does not apply to damaged valve stems.

I only carry tubes to use when my legs give out-which is usually about 30-60 ft from the car. Tying a couple together between your stem and a stronger rider's seat post make for a pleasant riding experience.

Just don't use tubes and you won't have to ever buy them again.
"Donuts. Is there anything they can't do?"

Thanks, but include a photo next time. I'm more of a 'visual' kinda guy.

My MTB is tubeless. I needed one for a cruiser and a road bike.

$7 is all the money for a tube but in the larger scheme.... not the end of the world
