I enjoyed the video. Fun trail, my avatar was taken on that trail a couple of years back. Is that wooden feature still there? I didn't see it in the video. I actually camped for the night right where your truck was parked at the end.
I'm looking forward to regretting this.......

Yea, the wooden feature is still there. A 2 mile section is closed starting at the Brownie park cutoff heading towards Brownie park so I haven't ridden the upper section yet but they have made a ton of improvements on the lower half.

I've tried a couple of times to head up the (I guess) the upper section but have been turned back by high water. (the trail joins the road briefly around brownie canyon) Once I drove up the road (maybe the section that's closed now?) and parked where there is an upper bridge (by the interpretive trail) and rode the trail to check out the old log structures that supported the flume back in the day. Cool area, I need to go back.

It seemed that the upper part of the lower trail was being worked on when I was there last (2011)

Thanks again for posting the video.

This looks like this weekends trip to me! Any primitive camping in the area? We're just stealth camping from the Sequoia. Campgrounds work too!

I camped at the lower trail head. Seemed like there were other options as well.

Yeah, I'm in Rifle and we've been getting rain everyday for about a week, but the riding has still been ok. Looks like your area will be the driest this weekend?
Thanks for the heads up on the camping too. I checked with the BLM and it looks like there is a campground plus open camping.
    Thanks again guys!
