    Cassidy/Thunder Mtn food options

We plan to make a day of the two trails. I was wondering if there is food near by or do we need to pack lunch? From the maps, it looks like Panguitch is the closest option. How long would it take to get to the food by car? Is it realistic to hit both trails with a break for lunch?

    Thanks for any help.

I usually bring some food for the ride, then go pig out at Ruby's buffet after. The food is mediocre greasy cowboy goods, but after both trails several trips to the buffet usually leaves me with the right level of food coma for the drive home. Ruby's is closer to Bryce than Panguitch and timing can be an issue.... I've chosen not to eat there when there are too many tour buses and the line can stretch out the door...

    Great. Thanks for the info.

Could you do me one more favor and give some direction from the trail head so I know where I am going? I have not been up there yet so I am flying blind.

To get to Ruby's Inn head East on highway 12 out of Red Canyon for 10 or so miles and You will See the "Little Town" on the right. Its the same turn off as Bryce Canyon Natn'l Park.

Henries is a really good drive in hamburger milkshake drive in. Its in Panguitch.

The Adobe in Hatch Has really good mexican food for where you are at.

Also "The Pines" resturaunt Between Red Canyon and Bryce on the left hand side of highway 12 heading east just outside of red canyon has awesome homemade pie!

Ate at the Ruby's inn diner today at work and it was.....just ok.

Do you like frozen boxed Pie? Pines has homemade daily Pie made from scratch.

Another vote for the option of food for the trail and eat out after riding. The Cowboy BBQ Cafe in Panguitch is a bit special - the smoked brisket is summat else

We went back there in October for a return visit but it was a Monday - it closes Monday

I have never been to those trails, but if you do go to panguich, Flying M's Diner has really big sweet rolls...like the size of your face...for really cheap.
