Canyons Bike Park Calling it quits?

Heard from a few sources that the Canyons bike park will be shutting down after this year and moving its operations to the Park City side.

Is this true? Are they keeping the existing trails? will they just be moving any future development over to the pc area?

I have not heard anything about that. The topography and lift configuration there is certainly not ideal, but it would be a shame to shut it down.

In my ideal world, Vail resorts would plow under EVERYTHING on the front side of PCMR save Armstrong and start fresh building a bunch of directional trails with varying levels of features/jumps/etc. The topography there is perfect, better to put in the effort there than at the Canyons.

The status quo is awful - a bunch of forgettable and indistinguishable XC trails with blown out corners and no flow (at PCMR) and some decent trails with AWFUL lift service forced into terrible terrain at Canyons. Given that it's private land, I'd scrape it all and start fresh. Sorry, Spiro.

Wow, went off topic on that one...
