8 hrs of Sundance - Any info on this race?

    Hi,
I am an Arizona guy who will be in Park City in September for a week. I saw there is a race "8 Hrs of Sundance" (used to be 12hrs) in September that I will be in the area for. Sundance is on the way to Park City from Phx Az and my Timeshare check in Saturday afternoon/evening on the day of the race.

So I am considering going up a day early and doing this race. Never heard of it before and I wonder if it is any good? I have done long races before and 8hrs solo with in my riding range although most of those races have been big loop courses rather than lap courses.

It's a fun race and course is not very technical (but very scenic if you like Alpine riding) - the race itself is not too big but well run and logistics are super easy (which is nice for an out of towner). The course is about 7 miles (laps easily completed in less than 1 hour). I would keep an eye out on Sundance's website as the race gets closer for any last minute changes, etc.

I've done the 12 hours twice. It's a fun race. Beautiful venue. Easy location for support.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I will keep it on my radar screen. Still have plenty of time before it goes. Does it use the trails on the ski mtn? Looking at resort's Mtn bike web site I see trails like Archie's loop Boneyard etc. Do they make a 7 mile loop using these trails?

Yes, course is a mix of singletrack (Archie's, switchback ally, etc) as well as some short sections of fire road.
