3rd ring for my trip to Moab?

I know it's late but what the heck. I leave in a few hours for my first trip to Moab. I recently removed my big ring in favor of a bash ring.

My question: Will I miss it in the Moab area?

I don't need it for my local trails, mostly very techie up and down stuff, but I could easily re-install it if I think I'll need it. We'll be riding Porcupine and then whatever techie trails we can find.

    Any thoughts? Thanks...

Your bashring will be more useful than your big ring. I've been riding in Colorado and Utah that way for years, and it hasn't hurt my downhill speed on trails at all (and that's coming from someone who likes to go fast downhill). It's only an issue if you're trying to go fast on paved roads.
If you have a 32 or 34 middle, I recommend going to a 34 or 36. Even a 21/36 shifts fine for me.

Also, I recently got a steel 36 ring and got rid of the bashring. The steel seems to handle the occasional ding fine so far.
