    Utah trip images

Just got back the other day from a Utah trip. This is like number 19 for me, but this time I brought the wife for her first time. She really has not been mountain biking for more than a year, she put 6 months into getting ready learning how to ride some rocky terrain around here in Tahoe before getting into some Utah terrain. We started by riding Wasatch Crest Trail above Salt Lake with a friend who lives there part time-my wife took her first scary digger OTB into some big rocks, missing her face to rock hit by an inch or 2. I was about like.....were going home....!!!!! She missed it and was fine, just scared the hell outta me. Then a quick ride in Park City, and onto 5-6 days in Moab. The week we were there was leading up to the TWE enduro race. I rode TWE 2 days before the enduro, and it snowed up high onto of Burro mid week, made for some greasy slick sections getting up to Burro as well as down the first mile or so. Was like 50 people up there first shuttle, all the shuttle company vans were full. Then things got like real friggin' good by the time you got to Warner Lake. I sure would like to see an alternate trail bypass the rough middle section of Porcupine Rim, otherwise the ride was excellent as it usually is each year. I took her on Slickrock Trail, AmasaBack, lower Porc singletrack, and Klondike in that order. After her crash on WCT, I though she would be gun shy. But on Amasa she let it go and got better by the minute.
Then it was onto Bryce and Thunder Mtn., and finished in the Brian Head area riding Virgin River Rim trail and Bunker Creek. Finished with an overnight in Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest. Was an excellent 2 week vacation.
Here are pics for you all, mostly taken from Gopro stills and vids.

The fall colors were off the hook good in the Souther Utah area, Brian Head, Navajo Lake, and Panguich Lake areas. La Sals were just as good too.

    Nice pics!!!

Hey DGC, we were @ Tahoe two weeks ago for 9 days, 1 in Downieville, as always awesome! It's my 3rd time up there. Now we are already planning next years trip, and everyone (it's a big group) wants to go up there again, it was their first, plus other friends that could'nt make it that time. This time it will be 2 whole weeks, a few days @ Santa Cruz / Demo, the rest Tahoe/Downieville. Plus there's a lot of Downieville/Greagle that we missed on this trip. However I was also thinking Oregon or Utah (mostly Park City) as I've never been there. If you didn't live @ Tahoe, as it is your backyard, which would you recommend?
The world needs a huge socio-economic change...be it. We all need to ride more....

Dude that is awesome! I just got my 2011 5Spot in gray anno; cannot wait to go to UT next Spring. I did Slickrock & TWE on a rental FR Ellsworth last year. Next trip will be with my oh-so-badass Turner. Where's pic in the aspen trees taken? Love to hit some other spots in SE Utah for sure. Later!
