Turner XCE VanillaRC spring weight help

I don't know anything about spring weight or shock adjusting in general so I need help. This 2001 XCE has a VanillaRC with a 1.75" stroke and I weigh 215lbs geared up. Through the years probably went up to 250lbs. I vaguely remember at that weight the spring was compressed badly when just sitting on the bike so bought some new springs (I don't know with who's advice).

    So I have a 1) FOX 800 x 183, 2) FOX 700 x 183, 3) FOX 500#-1.94

I have #1 on right now but this website says that I should be using a 500. So it kinda looks like I should use #3 but does anyone know what the 183 number and the 1.94 number means?

I would guess it's the maximum stroke for the spring. Since your shock stroke is 1.75 those springs should all be compatible.

Let's say you put any of those springs on a shock with a 2" stroke. The coils would completely collapse and bind before the end of stroke and that's not good.

Coil spring preload should also be mentioned. The coil preload collar should be turned no more than 3 revolutions to achieve proper sag. ( I mark mine with some nail polish) If you need can't achieve desired sag within 3 revolutions than you need to go up in spring weight.

I replaced the 800 with the 500-1.94 which came with the bike and set the sag at ~30%. It was easier than I expected. The only thing I noticed was the stroke was 2" which included the bumper. But I thought it was 1.75 for the VanillaRC and 1.5 for the Romic. I have searched high and low but no answer. Does anyone know?
