    Turner 4X DJ Pics

Took the 4X bike to the local dirt jumps because its been way too long. I figured the kids have built them up some with help from the recent rains and when I got there it was just as I suspected. Big, steep perfectly sculpted lips with big landings and healthy gaps. The pictures do not do them justice, when you see them in person, they are intimidating unless you're a full time DJ'er.

After more aborted run ins than I care to mention, I finally hit the first big one. Sweet! Big hang-time gives you some time to throw it around and look at the next one. Next time, I'll try to work up to the next jump which is a little bigger and come up on you faster.

Every time I ride this bike I just love it. I don't race 4x anymore but anytime I take it out it just feels so good. Super-low bottom bracket, short CS and TT and slacker HA make it extremely maneuverable and turn like nothing else. Its a specialized machine but it does a superb job for what it was built for.

    That whip was so rad!!!

I've always lusted after the 4X frame. (I have a Rail, but it isn't the same)

I need to bring my dirt jumper with me when I visit my parents in SoCal. That spot is legendary.

    Cheers.

Very nice! The lips look immaculately sculpted and very steep. The view from this jump spot doesn't seem to suck either.

Thanks for posting those bro! Nice shots! I'm not much of a DJ'er but its keeping my stoke up. Which is important when your sitting under 25 cm of snow

Wow, you are really smooth. It barely looks like you need your suspension. Nice work!

Thanks man. Your old stomping grounds have sprouted a bit ...

This is the first gen 4x bike and has 3 inches of travel. The geometry was something like this:

    ST 15
    HA 68
    BB 12
    CS 16.7
    TT 22

ahhh, that would be 'old man' kurt's work. if anybody should be voted into the dirt jump builder hall of fame it should be him. I'm only good at moving lots of dirt, kurt loves the detail.

Those 4x turners are so sweet! love the pics, too.

sorry, i know it's not turner related in any way, but superstocks post got me reminiscin' . here's a pic from a couple years ago when we first started rebuilding the spot.

anybody know JJMF? you should, this guy can flat out ride a bike and pretty much helped start the 26" revolution.

credit to potatogrande for the pics and the shovel

The older 4X Turner frames are soo sweet, and I feel they ride better then the 2007/2008 model too, lower BB and slightly longer TT.

You runging the fork art 80mm travel?

    A different spot

Just found a new DJ spot only 15 minutes from home:

The kids have been working hard this winter!

There are another 3 or 4 jumps in this rhythm section that I still need to hit. I'll have to go back when I have more time and try to link it all together. There is bigger line to my left, I don't know if I'll be hitting those ...
