Is there a 5 Spot in my near future?

I think so. The first stab at a build:

Hi Monte. Here's a preliminary list for you to look over......
    5-Spot
    Maverick w/hub & stem
King rear hub, Mavic 819 rims, DT 14/15 spokes, brass nipples, + wheelbuild
    King headset
    SRAM X.O. shifters
    SRAM X.O. rear der.
    SRAM PC-99 chain
Race Face Atlas crankset, or maybe the Deus
    XT front der.
    XT cassette
    Brakes: Juicy 7 203/185
    Tires, not sure yet
    Grips, ODI Lock-On
Easton, Race Face, or MaxM carbon

    Good choices

Why not go for a SRAM cassette? Got one on my 5 Spot and its just as good as XT also slightly lighter I think.

Thomson stem? Do you get them for Mavericks? If so go for it they're lovely.

You'll go a long way to find a tyre to beat Conti Verts

Got Easton EC70 bars and have been V happy with them.

Don't forget to post a picture when she's finished.

I don't like the big jump between 1 and 2 cogs on the 34t SRAM's. The Thomson stem was a mistake in the list.

Sounds like a great build. Will you have it for Canmore?

Hold out for the Atlas crankset, this bike deserves the beefier stuff. FWIW I just put a set of polished Deus' on my wife's XCE and they definately have the bling-swag-factor. Several peeps, including Pete, have had problems with Easton carbon bars and have since made the switch to Maxm stuff. Might be worth looking into.

I wonder if I can get the Atlas with the gold BB set?
Faster is better, even when it's not.
