So I took a bunch of parts off my Spot...

And put 'em on a new Sultan

I've managed one ride on it and really like the ride. It's got a much different feel than the Spot and handles better than my 29er hardtail. Actually, a lot better since the Sultan's wearing those wheels until my new set comes in.

The F29 felt a lot stiffer than my Reba at 100mm. That and having the controls picked up and moved from the other bike made me feel right at home. I'm thinking that my 5.5 rockers may move over and the 5.3s will go back on the Spot.

Wow. I'm going to enjoy this

Looks beautiful RR. I'd be interested to know how it compares to the spot on tight, twisty stuff.

I haven't had the chance to hit a fast switchback on it yet but I'm really impressed with the grip. The handling feels faster than the Spot with a 140mm Pike on it.
I'm a tall guy and not a switchback-meister so I hope it does well. I've got a few trails in mind...

The Sultans I've been riding remind me a lot of my spot. Tight and twisty? No problem.
    Nothing to see here.

You guys need to settle down your "niner loving" here on the Turner board. There are alot of insecure kiddie-wheelers you're destined to offend if you keep it up.

Sultan reminds me how bad rider I am.
That bike can ride everything up and down w/o any problem - it's just me who chickens on the downhills and gives up on the uphils.
Even on the XXL tight switchbacks are no problem, partly to great traction of my Rampage tires.
One thing that remains to be solved is the small bump sensitivity of the RP23 - I guess I will have to send it to Push (for Xmas)

It's about time RR...I have a feeling the Spot is going to collect a lot of dust now. Can't wait to see it in person (and take it for a spin!).

    Especially with no drivetrain.

Hey RR when are you and Dickman going to get together for the family photo of you two's twins?
