    New RFX with Double Chainring?

Got a new RFX, currently set up with a single front and chain guide but I'm thinking that I could get it out on more rides if I had another chain ring.

Anybody got an RFX that they are running with a double? If a double with a tensioner, what tensioner would you recommend?

    Thanks!

Nearly everyone here runs two rings. A bunch of us run a Heim or Heim arm with LRP roller, or e13 DRS's, or Blackspire Stinger. There are huge threads on the topic. Search for "chain guide" or similar.

True Homer = Heim with LRP roller
    Poser = Heim stock
Homer in denial = e13 DRS
    Turner Owner = Stinger

On my 07, I am forced to run a Heim arm with Stinger roller....it would seem that the Stingers are on back order right now. I"m kind of bummed that the 07 frame does not have the ISCG tabs. I guess the Heim sandwich will have to do for now.

    I am not a Homer!

I have an LRP roller on my DRS.

According to Faux that makes me True Denial?

    El C,
Can't you run the sandwich style Stinger on the new rfx? They make three styles...ISCG, ISCG '05, and the sandwich style.

Pricepoint saya they have them in stock on the website.

Geeze, if you are going to the trouble to make custom bits, why soil them with e13's pathetic roller? That thing is softer than a gummi-bear.

It's what I had lying around at the time; I want to get the mrp roller for it, because, as you have observed, the drs roller is too soft. Mine is nearing it's end of life.

The swap will be easy, in any case. The LRP roller with bearings is only $12. That's like 1/3 the price e13 wants for the DRS bits. The e13 is also incompatible with a lot of chain lubes (wtf?). The LRP appears to be impervious to pretty much everything.

I agree the e-13 roller leaves a little to be desired and seems to have alot more drag than any other roller I have used. Does anyone know if there is a replacement LRP roller that will fit the e-13 drs set up ?

    thanks
    Jason

I just used a stock LRP roller and bolts. I had to dremel/drill the slot on the back of the DRS arm out a little to fit the 5mm bolt head of the roller, but otherwise it went right on.
