    My DHR build

Just got a '04 DHR. I'm getting a parts list together. Check it out:

    '04 Turner DHR
    '04 Rock Boxxer Race
    Headset Reducers (1.5">1.125")
    FSA Pig DH Pro headset
    Easton Vice 65mm stem
    Azonic WF 2" handlebar
Hayes 8" HFX-Mag's (accept no substitutes)
    SRAM Drivetrain
    -x.7 Derailleur
    -x.7 thumb Shifter
    -PG-970 12-26 Cassette
    -PC-59 Chain
    Truvativ GigaPipe DH BB (73mm/113mm)
e13 SRS MtnX Chainguide (ISCG, nice!)
Truvativ Holzfeller cranks (165mm) w/38t ring
    Azonic A-frame pedals
    Thomson seatpost
SDG Bel-Air saddle (if I can find one..)

    Any thoughts? comments? suggestions?

    Sweet.
You are gonna love that bike.
The only thing I would suggest against is the Boxxer Race. Everybody I know who has one hates it. It spikes really bad, and it is not going to match up well with the rear of the bike. I think the Slider + is in the same price range and it works very well. If you want to stick with RS, you would be better off getting the Team. I have a 7" 888 on my DHR, and it is amazing. If you already have the Race, then ignore everything I just typed and ride the pizz out of it!

    Sounds sweet!

We don't get much DH FR or Cross builds posted here...how about some pix and a description of the ride?
Faster is better, even when it's not.

The Boxxer Race spikes pretty bad. I've got a Team and it's quite a bit smoother than friends Race's that I've ridden.

The other thing that I'm going to switch on my bike is my Cane Creek XXc 1.5 reducer headset to a combo of the e13 reducers and a zero stack headset. The big advantage to this for me is I can then run my Romic crown on the Boxxer. The tall crown that I've got to run with the XXc headset isn't as torsionally strong and I've already bent one set of Boxxer lowers.

    Wheels and tires?

The Boxxer Race and the Boxxer Team are exactly the same except for +adjustability in the Team. If the boxxer has the Romic/BlackBox upgrade then the spiking should be fixxed.

So you have a XXC (on a DHR?), I've been told that the XXC/e13 headset combo has little or no dust & mud protection around the bearings. I think both have sealed bearings but still, is this an issue?
And would you run both e13 reducers? I think the zero stack of the e13 bottom cup will change the geometry of the DHR. I think the IH SGS DH frames are the only frames made right now that are designed for the zero stack.

As fer wheels and tires, Michelin DH treads on a pair of D321s

You can't "fix" the race like you can on the team.
The is basically nothing to drill in the race model, where as, if you pick up an 03 team, it is an easy mod to do. I did mine myself.
It still did not work as well as a Slider +, and nowhere near as good as a 888, but there is a price difference there as well.
I use the FSA 1.5 Orbit Ex. Pro headset on my DHR, and I am happy with it.
The E13 cups are great if you want your bar lower, or even your head angle steeper.
I would like to have the E13 cups on the top just for adjustibility.
And good choice on the tires!
Post pics when you get it done.

I wouldn't trade my Boxxer for anyting elese...I love it.

I run E13 cups on top and Cane Creek Double Xc at the botter...I love this particular setup! keep my controls low while keeping a nice head angle.

Michelin tires are also a good choice.
