    More revelation reviews?

I know there have been a few revelation reviews, but not many. Anyone have anything negative to say about the Revelation. I am torn between the AM1 and the Revelation for my new spot. The pike would be a great choice as well, but I can't afford a new front wheel. What would you choose between the AM1 and the revelation???

What type of build are you going with overall? And what type of handling characteristic do you want to achieve with the bike?

    Want reviews on Revelation?

See Pike. Just take away a bit of extra travel and stiffness because Rev is a QR.

Internals and chasis on the two are the same aside from the maxle.

I really have heard nothing but great things regarding the PIKE, so if the Revelation is truly the same fork minus the 20mm, then I guess I would feel really comfortable with that purchase. If I run a DHX Coil, then what model of the Revelation matches the best for that shock?

I'm not sure why Squeak says they are the same. The crowns are different as are the lowers (above and beyond the lack of a Maxle). They may share the same materials, but they use different forgings and castings. The Revelation crown for instance has thinner arms and would logically be a bit more flexy. The sliders on the Rev have a more tapered joint between the arch and the legs. The shape of the IS mounts is quite different. The guts are analagous though, so the function will be very similar. The Pike has shorter rods and so I doubt all the parts can be swapped, but the Motion Control damper is likely the same in both forks.

It's funny, but over a year ago at Interbike I demoed a Reba on a Flux. I came away thinking, "wow, that was nice." It was really before the new RS line had hit it's market stride and everyone thought I was nuts for recommending it and saying it rode well; better than a lot of the Foxes in fact. Excuse me while I feel vindicated.

Honestly, all the Motion Control forks ride similarly. Just get whichever one offers the options you would like and fit your budget.
My video techniques can be found in this thread.

Do I detect a bit of hubris?

Mr. Cheezy is more detail oriented than I and he is correct. The chasis is not exactly the same but pretty darned similar. Those long AK nights give him more time to reflect on the finer points.
The ride is very similar. As I said, Rev is not as stiff. Damping is the same.

Rev is more akin to the Float/Vanilla/TALAS 130 fork.
Pike is more akin to a Nixon or Z1.

Reign feels a little under-forked with the Revelation....functions nicely but I'd get a Pike given the choice at upgrade time..

Well, Reign is a 6" rig. It would probably feel a bit underforked with the PIKE as well. It would be analogous to putting the Revelation on a 6 Pack (RFX, RF6, whatever). Revelation is definatelly too little fork either.
