I've been gettin into the Talking Heads lately

    Anybody else?!?!

Looks like David Byrne maybe touring soon.

Here's one of my favorite Talking Heads songs.

I only ride bikes to fill the time when I'm not skiing.

He's doing the songs of David Byrne and Brian Eno

Just got the e-mail yesterday. A very productive time for both of them. I was at one of the two shows for the "Stop Making Sense" film here in LA. I remember borrowing money from a friend's Mom to buy the tickets, and it still is one of the most entertaining concerts I can recall.

I love the video for "Once in a Lifetime", so simple but funny and creative.

Besides, the band I am most enthralled with these days took their name from a TH song- see my avatar....

looking back, the 80's were my least favorite decade - bush the elder, mostly bad music and horrific clothes, but the talking heads were great!

If you want to check out a later copy band of sorts; listen to Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. No where near D Byrne talent; just sayin' though...

My Life in the Bush of Ghosts

Is a great Byrne/Eno album. Hypnotic and gets better with repeated listenings.

I've got a cassette of the original, I may have to digitize it. I hear the reissue dropped one song because it included a portion of the Koran. Ain't PC to disrespect religion (non-Christian ones, at least).
{Principal Skinner} Hmm. Whoever did this is in very deep trouble.
    {Martin} And a sloppy speller too. The preferred spelling of 'wiener' is w - i - e - n - e - r, although 'e - i' is an acceptable ethnic variant.

How about "More songs about buildings and food"? Weird, avant garde ambient tracks and lots of found sounds.
The remastered stuff sounds amazing, and Eno is a flippin' genius, probably one of the most influential unknowns in modern music. Let's see...produced TH, U2, Bowie, the new Coldplay; Roxy Music was never as good after he left (subjective opinion, of course, not sayin' their other records weren't good, jes sayin'), soundtracks...the guy is remarkable. He did a cover of "Tomorrow Never Knows" with Phil Manzanera in a band called "801" that is mind blowing.
I guess I like him, maybe.
