    I miss summer...

90 degree temps, 50% humidity, rides starting at 7,000 feet, post ride food and brew..

In the end, regardless of what you're on, you're probably having as much fun as the next guy... Me, I don't tend to over analyze the bike's ride as long as it's absorbing the bumps, shifting and is quiet (and this from someone who thinks gears are overrated )...

    Why bother?

Oh yeah, feel free to post your summer shots here... 10 more days and the days start getting longer!!!!

You been saving those for a rainy day? I've said it before, I would never have expected that kind of landscape from Idaho. Thanks!

    What specifically do you mean?
    Idaho has 9 12'ers, over 100 peaks above 11k & over 300 peaks above 10k.

    PS. good stuff flip!

Yeah, I don't think I was intrigued so much by Geography in High School . There is yet another door that flung wide open from my experiences with biking.

    Thanks again, Flip.

I read somewhere that Idaho is actually more mountainous than Colorado... We have around 80 mountain ranges ... However, we don't have any 14k ft. plus peaks... Only 12's...
The best part is that only 1.5 million people live here (in other words, in a state this big and this mountainous, it only has half the population of Orange County)....

It's good if you like snow sports... Unfortunately, the only snow sport I like is eating chili and drinking beer...

Great post flip! It's like 10 degrees out right and this was a nice warm fuzzy feeling. Here's some shots from my summer, I didn't get to take a lot and I didn't get to ride nearly as much as I wanted to, but here they are any way. Taken on a solo trip to the Maah Daah Hey late in the year, 32 miles of single track, 6 creek crossings, and scenery that didn't really stop.

    happy trails...

Damn, you're set you even have Tamago.

BTW- what kind of knife are you using?

Is the jar with the green cap the spicy sauce? I use Sraracha or however you spell it, with the rooster on the front. Very good stuff!

that Idaho sure is a nice place.....nice pictures flip ! Been a couple years too long since our last trip out. But good time and trails were had on our last visit, hope to make it back this next summer.

here's a pic of the wife riding around a dry/dusty redfish lake....the ride was okay but we JUSt timed it perfectly for a bluegrass fest that was happening the same week.

that's a Kikuichi- mid level carbon steel yanagi ~$250. i've had it for a long time and its now about 1.5 inches shorter and much shallower from all the time its spent on the wet stone.

that's sambal- hot garlic chili sauce- from same company that makes sriracha. i use it in my tuna poki and spicy tuna and hamachi.

yeah, tamago is a ***** to make- its sort of one of the benchmarks of a decent sushi chef. i'm not great at it, but i can do a better job than many.
