    How cool would this be...

New 2010/2011 RFX with Fox 40 lowered to 180mm and a hammerschmidt. I would sell my spot and my highline in a second to fund this build. Man i hate day dreaming...

For the right rider and on the appropriate terrain it would probably be awesome. I briefly though about putting a Fox 40 on my old '02 5" travel RFX but decided against it and went with a Zoke 66sl instead. It was the right choice for me, as while a 40 would've been great for downhilling my regular riding isn't chunky enough to warrant a dual crown fork.

The Fox 40 has pretty low axle to crown height, at 180mm it probably wouldn't alter the stock geometry of the new RFX at all, making climbing reasonable manageable, while really allowing the bike to shine on the rough descents.
