    The End?

After the big dust up over the last few days it seems pretty dead on the Turner board. Could this spell the end for homerdom e-riding? Was it the midget wrestling?

The stoke left with the TNT...hence my efforts to kick start it with some rippin' deedub footage. Maybe you could have brought a better camera? Guess we failed!...

Who are the "every" people you speak of qbert2000. I love how guys like you lump a select few, and proceed to categorize them as "everyone". In the end, these aren't the the people that I'm actually speaking to, so it's irrelevant.

It would be better if you actually rode your bike and met some people. You know, create some relationships, some bonds and earn their trust. Then the people that matter to me may speak up in your behalf. You have not earned that trust, though qbert2000. Until then how would anyone actually take someone like you seriously? I don't. Thats tough to swallow isn't it?

You speak as if you know anything about anything.

    Ah....but you don't.

Your spew is just regurgitated, learned "netspeak". You really need to be a little more creative. Put a little more effort into it, as your words are tired and old. Even the Chumpa guys are ignoring you.

Think about it and get back to me...K.

I am one of those people.

About 1% of your commentary has been about your preference for the old school. Great. Fantastic. It may, or may not be, relevant info for people who ride like you, in your terrain.

However, the rest of the non-bicycle, non-reality based diatribe appears to be either a cry for help, or a deliberate attempt to slander a brand.

    My question is: Why?

Thanks for wasting my time. Have a great day.

who are the guys you speak of? dude you seriously are suffering from a case of delusional grandeur. knowone cares what you think of the dw. you obviously know what rides best as you are so hardcore gnar. other than being an exceptional e-rider who has been called out as a tool by both dave weagle and dave turner there's not much anyone needs to know about you. thanks on everyone heres behalf for straightening out mountain bike designers everywhere on the wants and needs of one retarded dude. i'm sure all manufacturers everywhere are frantically rethinking their 2010 designs to meet your needs. if it wasn't for you we would be doomed to ride bikes that dont work for you. man i can't wait for my next ride to be a chppered out rfx clone so i can rid ethe gnar like you.

as far as chumba goes, it's pretty dead over there right now. alls quiet until the dw link knock off comes out. man that sounds like alan has made a poor choice to knock off the dw since you've proven that it just doesn't meet the demands of the hard core gnar douchebag market. oops, back to the drawing board i guess

How would you feel about that? Happy...sad...c'mon, tell us.

Funny how offering a dissenting opinion these days is considered a weakness/taboo.

It actually breeds strength and opens up many more doors than one would expect. Once the door is open you are free to walk through it or close it again, but at least you had a glimpse of what was on the other side.

Are you happy or sad?...let's start there.

hey mtb123 is this one of the guys you speak of? excellent post by dt i must say

MTB123, have you EVER admitted that someone else may actually have a valid point that is not the same as yours? On ANY subject? Really, the spew coming outa your keyboard is so narrow minded and in may ways without basis that YOU are the one that needs to go for a ride. You spew on about how core you are, but you have spent a huge amount of time writing lately just because you did not like the dw-link 5 Spot. You DON"T have to like it, you don't have to agree with anyone else, but everyone don't have to agree with you either. There are many that have posted thier AM 5 Spots on the thread of the same name, isn't it OK that they like their bikes? Could it be possible that they are just as core as you, maybe even great riders?

You seem to think Ink said he Could Not ride it on resort, but that is not what he wrote is it?

I disagree, 'MOST' RFX owners would be fine on a new 5 Spot with the same parts kit from their older RFX, even throwing on the coil in the back. The dw 5 Spot may not work for YOU as you are more core than anyone on mtbr, but the new 5 Spot would work for MOST. The reason I don't chime in everytime someone asks if the 5 Spot would work in place of the older RFX is that there is already a thread and a solid base of riders that can answer that question based on actually paying for the parts, building it up and dialing it in. This forum is not the property of Turner Bikes, so I try to let the forum answer the questions. And NO I will not be asking mtbr to ban you for life cause you won't play nice with the other riders. This is a thumbnail sketch of humanity, and humans never get along do we?

    My pleasure, tis the season.

Just goes to show there's more than one way to define being a magnificent arse.

I'd also like to believe that rumors of this forums's demise are greatly exaggerated.

I clearly stated that your opinion 'may' be relevant information for certain people. Once again, reality fails to be a part of a discussion.

I'm not sure what naked women pictures have to do with riding and DW Turners, please refrain from such childish behaivor or I will be forced to PM the mods, my fragile ego cannot handle this and I'm seriuosly offended.

There must be very little riding going on in most of the country for this crap to dominate every thread.

    It's a cycle I guess.

Love the backshots. If that sort of view was common to biking, I'm sure the conversations here would be quite different.

Ladies and gentlemen, I'll be brief. The issue here is not whether we broke a few rules or took a few liberties with the development -- we did. But you can't hold a whole sheep herd responsible for the behavior of a few sick, opinionated Jaybo123ís. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole Homer Nation? And if the Homer Nation is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of Turnerbikes as a whole? I put it to you, Greg ... isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do what you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America!

They're out there. You can have your dissenting opinion, I've had them myself on this forum, as have many other people. What is your goal with the repetitious nature of your posts, not to mention the quantity of posts lately? An open discourse about the bikes, suspension or whatever, would be great, but that's not really what we have here, partly due to the nature of your posting.

I'm sure many people are noticing, even if they are not posting and saying so. How about helping make the place a little more enjoyable to visit and participate, and backing off a little?

There was a point to all of it. I didn't invest all of that time and energy because I have a vendetta. My mission wasn't to condemn anyone...ie..DW, DT, current owners. I simply countered the claims that the 5spot was a lateral move from the RFX. In my mind that wasn't far from reasonable.

First Dave said I couldn't replace the RFX, but then claimed that most people could. You guys don't even get the point that I personally believe that I am an average skilled rider. Even amongst my peers. That said, there is no one that I know that could justify a straight swap and if they could they should have been on spot to begin with. I don't like the idea of folks getting lead to believe something that serves solely in the interest of sales.

I also think that DT and DW are going a little far with the "hype" on this board. This is still a review site so shouldn't they be considered "guests". This is a place where we should feel free to post stoke, fanboi shite, praise/malcontent...etc.and get feedback from our peers. When manufacturers jump in to "defend" themselves or "brag" about their products, it can lose that focus pretty quick. Right away I got ridiculed and basically got stapled to the cross by Dave, even called out...but he wasn't just disagreeing, he was actually throwing stones.

I'm pretty fed up with the business as a whole, but I love biking.

I actually don't disagree with you. On paper, I don't see an absolutely certain, even swap between a recent model RFX and the new Spot. I wouldn't know until I rode both bikes, set-up similarly and correctly for me, on my local terrain. It seems like you did, and found your answer. I think there are a few reasons you've caught some heat: you've beat this horse to death, the fact that many people legitimately seem to disagree with your opinion and the fan-boy nature of this forum. The the last two points are unavoidable, but you have control over how much dissension you put out there, which will determine how much vitriol you attract. If you push your point as hard as you have it can have the inadvertent effect of making you seem less credible, not more.

I also think that DT and DW are going a little far with the "hype" on this board. This is still a review site so shouldn't they be considered "guests". I don't disagree with you here, either. MTBR has been this way and getting worse since I started visiting here 4 years ago. The site is privately-owned and advertiser-driven and past events prevent me from holding out hope that the consumers that visit will have a say over the direction these forums take. Despite that, IMO when a manufacturer engages in this type of back and forth they usually don't win, even if it may look like they do according to forum fans.

We've all got no choice but to take what's being said by all posters, consumers and makers alike, with a bucket of salt unless we know exactly who the person is and we're sure of their motivation for posting.
