5 Spot Seat tube reaming ideas?

Any other 5 Spot owners have a hard time lowering their seat post below the welds for the shock mount? Mine gets "stuck" at about or just below that point. If I try to force it, the seatpost comes back up with gouges in the anodize.

I'm guessing there's a weld intrusion in the seat tube. Any ideas for reaming this out? I tried a wooden dowel with some sandpaper wrapped around it with no success.

I read a thread awhile back about this same issue. DT chimed in and said that the seat tube is butted somewhere around the area that your talking about. It's more than just a weld intrusion.

Thanks for the info. That makes sense given the stresses in that area.
I'll stop fretting over it and will just cut some seat post length.

Just use a 27.2 seat post with a shim, if you want to slam the post down on descents.
