trek ex9 vs giant anthem x1

Looking to purchase a trail bike soon and plan on racing xc and a few endurance races next year. Which bike would be more suited to do this. I live in the northeast and ride mostly singletrack. Alot of climbing but no drops of any significance. I was thinking a 4" travel bike would work best. Both companies have awesome warranty service. Any thoughts?

Well both are terrific brands, and terrific bikes, i personally like more trek geometry on the Fuels, but i do prefer much more the colors of the giants.

Trek colors are always so... lets say polite, unatractive!

The Trek is 5 inch travel (130 MM front, 120 rear).

You may want to look at the Top Fuel's for a 4 inch Trek.
