    2014 Trek EX 8

Hello everyone. This is my first post. I hope to learn a lot from everyone. I recently purchased a 2014 Trek EX 8 and have been upgrading it. I just finished a 1x conversion and dropper post. I am wanting to upgrade the front forks. The current set up is the standard Fox evolution 120mm Forks. I have found a good price on some Fox 36 factory RC2 150mm travel. My question is can the bike take a 150mm travel fork. It can be adjusted to 140mm. Any help would be appreciated.

Personally, I wouldn’t, bike geometry was designed for 120mm fork.

2014 was more of XC/trail bike not like the later generations that moved to more enduro bike...I would look at a fox factory 34 120 with grip2 damper as an upgrade.

In the original 2014 Fuek Ex thread quite a few posters upgraded to a 140mm fork and some even a 150mm. I think the consensus in the end was that a 140mm fork would not void the Trek warranty but 150mm+ would. Not that that matters to you with a 2nd hand bike. Anyway see the link below from post #486 where a poster had installed a Rockshox Pike 150mm. I think there were several others that upgraded to a 140mm fork and all reported positive results. Good luck.
