    Anyone riding an NX build?

Specifically looking at either a 2018 Patrol or 2018 Scout. Both are NX builds. I can get either brand new for less than $2,400. Worth it? Any experiences good or bad?

I have only been on GX on past bikes (not transition), but I figured I can always upgrade as needed and finances allow.

I have also found some deals on used 2018's in my area with GX builds, but still looking at at least $600 more and having the piece of mind with warranty these days is a huge bonus.

    Any thoughts? Thanks in advance?

This guy things GX isn't worth the extra money.

For me, I think going with SRAM but having to have the standard Shimano driver vs the SRAM XD driver might be bad down the road come upgrade time.

I think NX Eagle is pretty budget friendly for what you get. There are a couple of differences between NX and GX Eagle. the NX Eagle was designed for standard hubs while GX Eagle was designed for XD. I think SRAM was sneaky to build the NX for standard hubs so they can give riders more options without the need to get a new wheel with an XD driver.

The other difference is weight and construction. Much of the weight is broken down here: https://bikerumor.com/2018/06/23/com...nx-gx-x01-xx1/

If you are on a budget, you really can't go wrong with NX Eagle. However, you can find new take off GX Eagle components for much cheaper than retail. There is a vendor on Pink Bike that sells GX Eagle new take off parts and they work like a charm. I bought one of their kits for $315 and so far, I've had zero issues with any of the parts. The kit includes a cassette, rear mech, GX chain, and shifter. Everything was brand new and the chain was never removed from the casing.

    Thanks for the replies.

The 2018 Patrol build has an NX 11spd cassette. Would it be easy to buy an NX eagle cassette and swap them?

You would need an entire NX Eagle drivetrain.
