Great. Just like in Colorado. Now the problem remain with public land access.... Hopefully this year (if we ever have a functioning federal gvt to look at it!)

I celebrated New Year’s Day in McDowell Mountain Regional Park riding my e-bike among the Saguaro cacti in view of snow-covered peaks.

Are the trails in Sedona open to ebikes?

I can see the popularity of Moab waning as groups of riders realize their buddy with an ebike is banned from most singletrack there, and even the paved bike paths.

Well that sucks. The number of trail hazards just grew.

Again, this law is talking about bike paths and multi use paths which pertain to commuting.

From the law: D. A class 1 electric bicycle or a class 2 electric bicycle may be used on bicycle and multiuse paths. A local authority or agency of this state having jurisdiction over a bicycle or multiuse path may prohibit the operation of a class 1 electric bicycle or class 2 electric bicycle on the path.

"SHARED-USE PATH – A bikeway physically separated from motorized vehicular traffic by an open
space or barrier and either within the highway right-of-way or within an independent right-of-way.
Pedestrians, skaters, wheelchair users, joggers, and other non-motorized users may also use shared-use
    paths."

BICYCLE LANE OR BIKE LANE – A portion of a roadway that has been designated by striping,
signing, and pavement markings for the preferential or exclusive use of bicyclists.
BICYCLE PATH or BIKE PATH – See Shared-Use Path."

    Same BS different day

Ya, it's in the section on roadways. Very misleading article.

ARS 28-819 has officially defined classifications of e-bikes,"
    - True statement

"allowing those with a max power-assist speed of 20mph or less to have fully trail access statewide wherever conventional pedal bikes are allowed."
    - Not a true statement, or a lie as I call them. It does go on to explain more in the article. They also don't have to be registered, just like a moped, which they are.
