save the.. Create new trail. Wisconsin

It is trail building time in Northern Wisconsin..
Win a $100 gift certificate from the Bear Paw Inn.
Keep reading. spread the word, invite a friend.

The time has once again come to get started on our trail. This
year looks to be exciting for many reasons. Signs
will go up. The Scouts have again agreed to
build some trail and do a quick Spring clean. We will
also start new trail near Boulder Lake leading North
to the existing loop and hope you participate.

If all works out, our trail will be complete!

Saturday, May 13th is our first scheduled work day.
We will meet on Campground Drive at 10 am, a half
mile north of WW (W) for those of you coming from
Mountain. Look for my big white Van. Work for as
short a time as you want. All appearances are
appreciated. see attached map. Hwy 55 is south
of hwy 64. WW is East of 55. W is West of Mountain and hwy 32. Look at a map, it makes sense.

Useful tools are: long handled loppers

    grub hoes

    weed whackers (gas line trimmers).
very seldom used tools are saws, shovels and rakes.

Be confident, the work itself is not that difficult.
We have our techniques refined and find that being in
the woods is a pleasant time. This section of trail
will be rolling terrain and when finished will be far less rugged and faster ride than the loop.

With the trail being signed this Summer, it needs a
name. The Bear Paw Outdoor Center has informed me
that they will offer a $100 gift certificate as a
prize to the person who submits the name chosen.
Submissions are eligible from all who help out this

To help you out with a name. I've referred to the
trail informally as the Boulder, Boot and Bike trail,
and Boulder, bike boot trail with the Forest Service.
The reason being that the goal is to be able to ride a
bike from Boulder lake campground to Boot lake
campground. The trail is in the Nicolet National
Forest, and Wolf river is nearby.

note: it is possible to work in a light mist, but not

Good luck and hope to see you there!
