New question here. Quick/easy ways to tread a flat corridor?

We've just finished clearing/mowing a 1.5-mile corridor for nearly-flat, riverside singletrack, and I'm wondering if anyone has tips for speeding up the tread development -- aside from heavy raking along the whole segment...

'Ride it a lot' seems obvious. What else?

Note that herbicide and motorcycles are not going be on the list of options...

If it is ridable, start using it.

Define heavy raking. Have you raked it at all? Raking it once with a metal rake should make it good to go. It will take about twice the time it would regularly take to walk that distance, which isn't too bad.

If you're worried, get 5 or 6 friends and put in 10 miles back and forth.
I call for a mandate to allow only road bikes on trails to limit our speeds and increase our line picking skills-FB

tamp it with the flat side of a McLoed? That ought to keep you busy for a while.

Have a giant group ride or mini fat tire fest. Just invite a bunch of mountain bikers to use the trails, they will get bedded in after the event.

We used a sod cutter. It made a perfect .6 mile single track. We then used the cut sod to repair erosion areas.
