MTB rider's pics of wildlife - a counter to anti-MTB rhetoric?

I have read a few times that those opposed to MTB show pics of run-over snakes on trails and often state that MTB'ers scare away wildlife.

I thought that a thread (started in General Discussion for coverage) of pics MTB'ers took of wildlife while riding could help presenters counter these claims. Has this been done before?

I didn't have my camera handy and am kicking myself for it... but a few weeks ago while riding at Apex (Denver area front range trail) up near the Enchanged Forest trail I ran into two elk butting their heads. They were just a hundred or so feet from me (too close for my comfort actually).

I wish I had my camera! They looked at me and then went back to hitting each other for about 15 minutes.. then chased each other on down the trail. (luckily not in my direction)

They did not seem bothered by my presense in the least bit.

I love the sound they make...

    Great pic, Bubba.

I've started a thread on the subject here:
