    Maah Daah Hey in Danger

The Maah Daah Hey is in danger.

Many of you that have ridden this IMBA Epic know how close the wells are.

The Oil Boom is threatening to destroy this trail and other recreational activities in the North Dakota Badlands.

Please sign the petition and spread the word to others.

This article helps paint a better picture of what is going on.

    Thanks!

This is a huge mess. They are drilling for oil right on the trail and not rerouting it. This is over a 100 miles of kick ass single track and some of tightest single track around. I was able to ride this trail a few years back It runs from Theodore Roosevelt National Park all the way to Medora, ND. They have cut another 20+ miles south of Medora as well.

Sometimes I think the oil industry is its own worst enemy. They beg to be allowed to drill more places and then they do things like drill next to a nationally known trail system or cause a huge oil spill into the Gulf. Then they wonder why no one trusts them enough to drill in areas like ANWR.

Wait til they get greedier than oil can deliver and start fracking for gas next to your house.

If you can prevent this happening, it may set a precedent of massive benefit to every citizen. Let me qualify this by saying I am in Australia and not the USA, but money knows no boundaries.

Right now they're having trouble capturing all the natural gas from fracking, most of it's getting flared.

For all that drilling companies love to boast about their directional drilling capablities (and I've seen their charts), you'd think it would be easy enough to accommodate singletrack.

I don't know what trail we're on, but at least it's getting dark

There's a big difference between ripping and skidding. Those who skid don't know how to ride.
