    Looking for ideas - new trail help?

    I'm working with a group and we are talking with the property manager and some info could really help our case to open some trails for riding.

    A bit of background. The property is a public park and does charge gate and camping fees. It would be one of the first in the area to open to mountain bikes.

    Some things that we're looking for info on include:

    * Percentage of users to come from mountain bikers after property opened up to bikes
    * Increase in usage due to mountain bikers
    * Increase in revenue (percentage)

    Other revenue sources due to mountain bikers
    Grants?
    Gate Fees (Daily/Yearly)
    Camping?
    Other - races/events/other?

    Other not as tangible benefits
    Reduction in vandalism?
    Healthier population
    Keeps dollars local instead of riders travelling to trails further away
    Benefits to local economy - easier for bike shops to sell more, increased food and gas sales

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    And yes, I have contacted the local IMBA rep, and the IMBA site is open in the other window.

    http://www.kmcmag.com/pdf/kmc_summer05.pdf the summer article has a really good article about how much revenue mountain biking has generated for British Columbia, BC
