Duluth MN is killing it...Trail Masterplan!

Check out this (singletrack) trails masterplan which The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation published in coordination with local trails group (COGGS) and landscape architecture and planning firm (Confluence).

90 Page PDF which includes the following:

    -Masterplanning Meetings
    -Existing/Future Trails Maps
    -Funding Sources
    -Economic Impact of Trails
-Future City Budgeting towards completion of trail system

The City of Duluth Parks & Recreation along with the City of Duluth have approved and endorsed the plan and the municipal gears are turning to support these efforts.

Duluth is just killing it in terms of masterplanning, funding and construction of the Duluth Traverse.

    Very impressive work, Duluth. Nice.

2 hour drive for me to Duluth. I haven't rode most of the trails there except I did an xc race at Spirit mountain. Its on my bucket list to make a weekend trip up there to explore. If you ever make it up this way, you have to check out the Copper Harbor in the U.P. of Michigan. It is only a few hours from Duluth as well, and is another amazing riding area.

They have done a TON of work here, and it shows. My son and I had hoped to start at one end and ride as far as we could make it before petering out in a day, but life got in the way.
We did a LOT of sections of the trail though. Good stuff!
