    Biggest Bang for your Buck!

Our cycling club/trail association is just getting started. It has been really exciting to see all the folks that have done a little digging in the area over the past ~20 years actually meet each other and discuss objectives. We are not strong on numbers, and don't have specialized equipment, but we've already been able to make some notable improvements. Given resources, we're trying to steer effort only towards areas of the biggest bang for our buck: (listed in order of effort)

    - Marking hazards with paint.
    - Dragging logs/obstructions off the trail.
    - Removing hazardous stumps and roots.
    - Improving signage, consolidating traffic down the preferred routes.
    - Strategic drainage trenches.
    - Bridges and armouring areas.
    - Re-routes of bad sections.
    - Cutting new trail.

I was amazed to see that after ~4hrs of work from ~8 people, I can ride a ~2km section of trail much faster... The flow is much better when you aren't dodging pedal strike hazards constantly.

Just wanted to say that improvement is possible, even on the small scale.

Our objectives for the next year:
    - Get all the trails GPS mapped and post online.
    - One trail night per season.
    - Improve signage on trails.
    - Build awareness using Facebook page.
