var dishing gauge on ss wheel (cross post)

will the var dishing gauge work on a ss rear wheel. the reason i ask is because my park, home wheel hack dishing gauge is not deep enough to sit on the axle and touch both sides of the rim.

    Which gauge do you have?

I have the WAG-4 and it has tons of depth. If you have the cheapy WAG-3 it sound like it just needs a modification. I would just modify the one you have instead of spending money on a new one.

You could just bend the flatbar at each bend more to you get more depth out of it. make sure to bend all four bends so it sits flat on the rim again.

The other solution would be to fasten some sort of blocks onto the ends of the dish gauge where it contacts the rim to act as spacers to give it more depth.

    its the wag 3

bending the arms is a good idea. so is adding blocks.

will the a var work without modifications on 135mm solid axle wheels?
