Removing front chainring cassette from spline- Mtbr.com

    Removing front chainring cassette from spline

    does anyone know how i can get my front chainrings (whole cassette) off the spline? do i need a gear puller or waht?

    It's called a "spider".

    I'm assuming your using Shimano cranks, in which case you've gotta pop the lock ring off the inside of the arm, and then use an XTR BB tool to spin off the nut.

    Unless I've misread your question, and you really just need a crank puller....
