New question here. Race Face X-Type BB Tool

I'm entertaining the idea of purchasing a set of Race Face X-Type Deus cranks. By looking at the picture, it appears that my old Race Face ISIS BB tool isn't going to work.

Considering I do about 95% of the wrenching on my bikes, I would buy the tool as well. I'm sure Race Face will be happy to sell me a new tool if it is needed. Anybody know for sure if I will need something new?

    Thanks,
    Chris

This will work, and for Shimano and Truvativ as well...

    ...good old Park Tool USA.

BTW, I ordered the Deus as part of my spec, it's the only thing holding up shipment of my HH and won't be ready for delivery until at least mid march, but I think it will be worth it.

The going price most places is about $18 for the BBT-9, but Alfred E. Bike has it for about $16.

Tool & Crankset on order now.

Well, I just took the plunge and ordered a crankset and Park tool. I'm sure I'll have to wait a month or so for the crank to come in and ship.

I used to run a RF NextLP, but since it was 175mm in length, my short little legs just couldn't handle turning a circle that large. I went back to XT cranks, but hate the flex.

I'm really hoping that the Deus crank will be stiffer than the XT; however, I'm sure they still won't be as stiff as the NextLP cranks were.

    Thanks for your help.

If you mean the XT 3 piece setup, no problemo,...

...in asking how it would compare to the Turbine LP I had a few years ago, RF said it would be "stiffer than any 3 piece setup, ie: noticeable immediately when pedaling the bike"

Ironically however, they said the Deus arms are 35% lighter, but stronger than the 7075 Turbine arms, yet they say the Turbine is an "all mountain" crank, where as the Deus is restricted to XC use. I could only conclude they meant how the spindle strength compares with these 2 setups.
