Help Changing Sprocket Deore LX Crank

Iíd like to change to a 1x9 setup as I only ever use 3 or 4 gears. Iíve got a NW sprocket but am not sure how to access the front sprockets on the crank. First time with this operation, dunno if I need a special tool or?

Basically id like to change the front sprocket, replace the chain, and call it a day. X9 RD, X7 shifter.

Pics for reference (sorry for the mud!)
