    Chain skips on large cog

I just put a new chain on my bike (the other was stretched) and am having troubles with the chain skipping when I ride on the small cog in the back. Initially I figured the chain needed to wear into the teeth on the big cog, and it has gotten better, but I still have a problem when climbing steep grades. Could it simply be that I should remove a link from the chain? Is there too much play?

This came to me after I had the chain jump off the small chainring while climbing stairs the other day. Can ahyone help?

If the new chain is skipping up climbs (and when you crank hard on the pedals) you may need to replace the cassette too.

Had the same problem here. I say time for a new cassette.
