    motolite tire clerance

    Hi

I am almost there to buy a motolite but since there has been several qestions about tire clerance on the motolite i just wondering if some one can tell me for sure .
Does the intense cc 2.25 and /or system 4 tire fit ?
This is very important fore mee because this is the best tire on the trails i ride the most and the tires i trust most .

    Regards

The MotoLite has the same chainstay as the Switchblade, Racer-X, and Hammerhead. There have been a couple threads on what fits and what doesn't so do a search. You might check Shiggy's website mtbtires.com for details tire specs. Unfortunately, he doesn't have that tire specifically so you may need to extrapolate.

The swingarm is the same as the pre-2005 switchblades. The largest tire you will be able to get in there will barely be a true 2.3. I tried the Intense system 4 tires on my SB and it was a tight fit. If the tire or rim developed any wobble it would rub on the sides of the swingarm.

I was running Tioga 2.3 DH tires on my HH100x. There was minimal clearance on the rear, though it seemed to be ok. I got some rub when hitting corners at speed. I checked the chainstays after every ride and the only sign of rub was a shiny stripe. Then I went on a ride where it was muddy, the grit actually scored the chainstay. I imagine I will have to replace the stays at some point. Just a warning - if you ride where its muddy, that rubbing can cause damage.
