    2009 X...worth it?

    Asking price $1200

    Here's what I know:

    SLX (crank?)
    XT rear and front Der.
    Migura SL brakes
    Fox RP23 shock
    TALAS R fork
    DT Swiss X430 w/370 hubs

Previous rider only had a few rides on it and opted for a 29er instead. This bike is on consignment now, and wife is interested in picking it up as she has liked my FTM...but

Is there a way to tell if it has the newer seat stays by looks alone, or another way to tell at all?

According to the previous rider, the bike is exactly like it was shipped from Titus. She paid $2500 for it.

Wife has an email out to Titus to see if replacement parts are still available for this frame. Maybe someone here would know that info as well.

    Thanks.

She is also considering a new Juliana or a new Sette Derro 2.0 for comparison.

Oh BTW, it might even be a 2010...

Color is green if that helps.

The color is definitely the ugliest color in any bike I've seen. But it's also the best handling fastest alum frame at $1000. For $1200 fullbike it's a no brainer not to mention it comes with the RP23. I'd get it myself...

How can I tell if it has the fragile seat stays or if they have been replaced with the new and improved ones?

Supposedly there's a white dot under dropoff or near the rear link. Forgot where I read it. But mine doesn't have one and it's been holding up well even if I'm using it for daily training. That includes going down rock gardens that usually require a true AM... Anyway for that price I wouldn't worry too much about it. The welding and overall quality of the bike is superior to any overseas made mass frames by far. Still ugly color though...

Picked it up for $1000. Can anyone tell me if it is a 2009 or 2010 by the picture? Thought it was an 09, but looking in the Titus archive it looked like the 09 had a straight downtube.

Well, here is my wife's 2009 Racer X for comparison. Hers is slate grey/green. It was quite a bit more, even used, but does have some upgrades. I would say that is a pretty good price.

The curved down tube confirms it is an X. We do have replacement parts.

You got a good deal on the bike. Congrats!

Dang, that is one sweet deal indeed. The current X model with RP23 and Talas front too! So cheap...
