    Visiting TX

I plan to visit one of my buddies out in TX next year and wanted to see what kind of information and pictures I can get from the locals (I am from California) as far as trails. I have been looking through the threads but have not found too many pictures. Anyway, he lives in Lewisville and I am hoping to do some riding during my visit. Let me know of any local spots and post some pics if you can. Thanks everybody! Go Cowboys!

If you are staying in Lewisville, you will have plenty well maintained options nearby. Go to http://dorba.org/ and click on the trails link. This will give you a good listing of the trails in the area, along with maps and a brief description. And if you post up, you won't have any trouble finding folks to ride with and show you around.

There are three trails on lake Grapevine, which are very close to Lewisville. North Shore is the most popular. But it can get pretty crowded on the weekends.

If you have time to make the drive, I would recommend Sansom Trail. Here is a link to a video. (although it might make you a bit naseous trying to watch it)

If you want to come south, all the best trails in texas (except palo duro) are in/around austin.

Thanks for the information. Maybe I can extend my trip and go down to Austin too.

We have bikes here if you need them. You can also rent full suspension if you want.
