A Spring Ride at Dinosaur Valley State Park (DVSP)

Perfect weather this weekend to re-visit one of my favorite trails. I think I covered every trail at least once. 20.5 miles Nice spring ride.

Looks like you hit pretty much all of it. Usually the river trail is hiking only, however it was opened for the Dino Enduro race on the 27th. I love it out there...

The trail up to the observation point used to be hikers only and they have now opened that to bikes. The river trail is a technically fun and challenging ride. The river crossing was up slightly, but still easy to cross.

There's also a new trail from the top of the observation point. Super fast and built for downhill use, it was used as the final stage in the race. BTW where are located, how long a trip is it for you to D.V.?

I also saw that trail during the race weekend and last weekend. If you're facing the river on observation point, the new trail is on you're right? Correct? Have you been down it?

Sorry...I didn't answer your question. I live in the MetroMess and it's about 75 miles one-way.

Yep, that's correct. There are 2 points to enter the trail maybe 30 feet apart. I actually first noticed the Trail last spring and have ridden it often. Fast with small lips to get a little air up top. Easy to over cook due to small pebbles / loose over hard. Hard left about 2/3 down, then down an off camber seies of steep switchbacks. I'll try to gopro that section soon. Albeit at my speed and ability.

No, didn't do the race. Just rode around between the two DVSP laps of the Fossil Fifty on Saturday. I didn't even know there was a race that weekend until getting there. Some parts of the trail that were muddy got really trashed.

I was passing through on spring break and did the race. Glad I got to experience some of the Texas trails outside of Austin where I was headed. DVSP was a lot of fun but I still feel bad about riding through those wet areas. One of those races if I lived by there I'd head back to help smooth it out to keep the peace with the rest of the Trail users.

DVSP is my 2nd closest trail and probably most favorite. The trails will be back in shape in no time. There's great drainage and plenty of sun, plus I'll do my part when I get back there. Maybe this week. Man I love to get down to the hill country which isn't near enough. Yall have so much, quality stuff in Cntx, albeit spread out. Next on my list is Flat Rock, or back to Colorado Bend S.P.

Nice pics clearedtoland...nice bikes too, I'm on a Yeti sb95a in team turq.
