    So sad about Texplex

I just found out Texplex is closing it's bike park, I had so much fun there and was looking to go back just this weekend. I hope I find something else close by.

What?! Why? Iíve never been but wanted to go. What are do you live in? Rocky Hill Ranch has a spot called Freeride 512 with jump and drop lines.

I've never been, but wanted to check it out. Guess I'm not too surprised if their reason is lack of business. Paying to ride MTB in DFW isn't appealing considering the couple hundred miles of single track available for free within the DFW area. As for area pump tracks, only a couple others, but they are free as well.

I noticed references to MTBing has already been removed from their site.
You didn't quit riding because you're old, you're old because you quit riding.

Does anyone know if there is another place that has something like the airbag that was at Texplex? I had a few tries on it and was looking forward to hitting it up again to learn whips.

edit: In Texas that is, the closer to Waco the better

Never got a chance to go there before I moved out of Texas but honestly it wasn't that appealing. Their website listed the mtb stuff as more as an afterthought, with little detail about what they had and trail maps, etc. Honestly I wasn't about to go drive an hour, pay an entrance fee, only to 'ride' in a barren plot of land in the blazing Texas heat where instead I could go to any of the trails in the DFW area.

If they really wanted MTB business, they should have reached out to the local clubs, had events like demos or group rides or clinics or just get out there. Among riders it seemed like it was word-of-mouth how people were finding out about it.
