I highly suggest the northshore trail and big cedar wilderness in the DFW area, rowlett creek preserve is pretty good too, but northshore, oak cliff and big cedar clown anything in houston.

I've ridden at Cedar Hill state park a few times and there isn't anything there that is technical other than a lot of switchbacks. Long, smooth, and relaxing ride nonetheless.

Haven't been to the any of the trails that you mentioned, but after youtubing those places, doesn't look any different from Cedar Hill.

Houston has only one Santa Cruz dealer Bicycle World and Fitness and there is one down in Webster the other ten Santa Cruz dealers are in the DFW, Austin and San Antonio areas.

I don't know if its marketing, demographics or a niche thing somehow Santa Cruz has never been a big brand down here in Houston same goes for Ventana, Yeti, and Ellsworth Itís rare if you ever see one on the local trails down here.

I hope the weather is good. I'd like to get in an early ride in at McCallister and then demo a couple of bikes.
