Moving to San Antonio - HT or FS for trails?

Hello everyone. I sold my old Rockhopper and will be purchasing a new bike ($3000 budget). I will be moving to the Northwest area by end of the week, and will be next door to Government Canyon (never been to the park). I was hoping to hit that trail up for the convenience of being close by, as well as OP. I rode OP a few years ago but I honestly do not remember the terrain.

The bikes I am looking at so far:

    Specialized Chisel (100mm travel)
    Stumpjumper FSR Comp (150mm)
    Camber Comp (130mm?)

Can any experienced SA riders give me their opinion if a HT or FSR is really needed for some casual riding?

Government Canyon is pretty technical and rocky. I would recommend a full suspension bike personally. I ride OP, Macallister, Flat Rock, etc and I ride a 150/160 27.5" bike. Either the Camber or Stumpjumper would be a good choice, depending on your personal preference.

Yeah, my daughter lives in SA and bought herself a Yeti SB5 last year with 150/126 last year for $2800 when Backcountry was blowing them out. It has transformed her riding after coming off a Ghost hardtail from REI. Flat Rock is her favorite place to ride but I hear her mention McAllister as well.
