    Huntsville Classic

So, I offically registered for my first mountain bike race. I signed up for category 3 men 19-29. I have never raced and it's been roughly ten years since i've been to Hunstivlle State Park.

What type of trails can i expect? Are they sandy and rooty like Memorial? I don't want to screw anyone racers up with my pacing during the race. I'm gussing since it's only 9 miles, it's more of a sprint rather than a endurance event?

    I'm excited either way!

Tons of roots, thick sand, and a few good sandy, rooty, climbs. I think there are more roots in one mile of trail at Huntsville than there are in all the other trails in Houston combined. It's a fun, fast course but make sure to bring tires that tread thick sand well.

Pray for Rain!!!! It's the one trail in Houston that is WAY better when it's wet. It dumped on us during last years race and i the trails were NICE but watch out for the bridges if it does rain. HAVE FUN!!! Look for us out there.
