How are the Lake Bastrop trails?

I just moved to the Bastrop area, and I am looking for something to ride regularly. Are these trails mainly for hiking?
I have ridden Walnut Creek in Austin. Are these trails comparable?
I don't want to go to Smithville everyday if I can help it (plus it is $20 per ride?).

    Thanks

The trail I am looking at is the one that runs next to Lake Bastrop and not inside the state park. LCRA runs it.

The one next to the lake is okay but nothing special. I think they run side-by-side ATV's down it for maintenance so it's pretty wide. There is some sand in places but it's a nice scenic ride. I suspect you'll ride it a few times and then opt for the Buescher (park), Warda, or Smithville.
