GHORBA Ride at RHR - Benefit for Bastrop victims!
As many of you know there is a large fire located near Bastrop, Tx that has kept firefighters busy for the last week. They’ve recently been able to get the fire mostly under control but it has taken lots of man hours and resources to do so. Rocky Hill Ranch is holding a benefit for all the victims of the blaze this coming Friday and Saturday September 16th and 17th. There will be food for sale and free beer both days with all proceeds including ranch entrance being donated to the firefighters. They’re calling on all riders to come out and support those who have lost everything in the Bastrop fire. Friday night the ranch is hoping to have a DJ in addition to the food and drinks. On Saturday, we (GHORBA) are planning on holding a group ride starting at 9:30 am for anyone interested in riding the trails. We will divide into groups of beginners, intermediate, and advanced riders which means no one will be left out. Just to be clear, the idea of a benefit came straight from Rocky Hill Ranch and not from GHORBA. We just want to help in any way we can.

Since Rocky Hill Ranch is a good drive away from Houston we are organizing a carpool to get riders there on Saturday. We will meet at the Academy Sports & Outdoors located on the corner of I-10 West and Hwy 99 at 7:00am. If you are able to offer a seat or two in your vehicle or if you need a ride please email me at [email protected]. Those offering a ride need to let me know how much gas money you expect from your riders as well as what time you expect to leave RHR for the return trip to Houston. If you plan to take your own vehicle to RHR you are more than welcome to follow us there. Remember we will leave at 7:00 am sharp.

Just got an email from Greg at RHR and he says there is not smoke nor any smell of smoke at the ranch. Anyone who suffers from allergies need not worry.

A little rain would probably be good for the trails. We'll make a decision at ride time.
