    Georgetown

Anyone been on Goodwater trail or the San Gabriel trail behind the frisbee golf course lately? Did they get Goodwater all the way around the lake yet? Can antone ride the switchbacks by the golf course on the San Gabriel trail? Or are they still there? Damn I miss Georgetown!!!!!!!!!

    Hey Dave,

I'm not sure if much of the trail you're refering to is left anymore. The city and the ACoE built the Rivery Trail, which connects San Gabriel Park and Lake Georgetown. It's a mix of crushed stone, asphalt, and cement. A nice warm up to the Goodwater Trail at the lake. The loop around the lake is complete, but bikes are not allowed on the south side of the lake between Cedar Breaks and Tejas Camp. The USF&W recommended that the Corps keep the trail closed there b/c of the golden-cheeked warbler, the bane of mountain bikers in central TX.

    Oh No

Don't tell me they have abandond Dave's trail (that goes up and down from the ridge to the river bottom) in favor of a gravel, asphalt and concrete path. I'll bet it is still there, just look for some single track that goes up on the ridge from the new Rivery trail. It should be just west of the Rivery Road bridge.
    Thanx for your reply!
