    Dana Peak Trail Map?

    Greetings,

We got rained on a fair bit in Austin this morning and a member on Bike MoJo suggested riding Dana Peak since they got very little rain there. I've found some information on the park, and it sounds like the trails might be a bit tricky to follow a guide since I've never been there.

Does anyone have a trail map and/or some advice on how to ride the trail and see most of it? Sounds like you can ride around 15 miles of trail without too much repeating.

It's only an hour north of Round Rock, so I'd like to check it out.

    Thanks!

    ..Al

The routes we usually ride are on Garmin Connect--see my link below--you might have to look 4 or 5 pages in, but there is a 12 miles rte versus the standard fast 6.5 mile loop we usually ride. The 12 mile rte include an out and back leg out to the bench that is in addition to the loop.

Some members for Ghorba are coming up to ride on 11 Sept at BLORA and 12 Sept at Dana Peak--barring rain--right now there's some in the forecast and i hope it does not amount to much. Forecast start times at 0900 each of those days.

Unfortunately Dana Peak is not signed well at all. But is hard to get lost.

edit--I have not done the full route out to the bench in a bit and would not mind guiding if you want someone to show you the trail. What day are you planning on riding,,,

I was thinking about going out there tomorrow since it's going to be relatively "cool", and it's not dry here in Austin.

yes, the leg on the left we do last as a cool down leg, but it could be done first as a warm up.
