Anyone do Shock work in Houston?

Can anyone recomend someone to do shock work in Houston? Oil changes to full rebuilds. I've been to a a few lbs here in Houstton and haven't had any luck so far. Every shop I've talked to sends there stuff out. The only shop I've talked to that does there work in house is Sun and Ski, but they don't really want to touch anything more then 5 years old. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

I'm in Houston and either use Push if I want the full tuning or for something a little more cost effective I have used –dirtlabs– home several times.

For a rebuild you might be better sending it off simply because most Houston shops are not going to deal with rebuilds that often.

It's not too long a drive to Austin and I know from personal experience that Cycle Progression on Lamar does outstanding squish work. Can't offer anything in Houston, though. Sorry.

What do you have--fork or rear shock. I doubt anyone in HTown will touch a rear coil shock. If it's a fork--you can likely do anything a local shop would do yourself--like a simple yearly service, drain and refill. If it's something like pressing in new bushings or rebuilding cartridges they would probably end up sending it off anyway.

2004 Marzocchi marathon sl, everyone I talk to says it's abullet proof fork worth rebuilding. Anyone know roughly how much Plush charges? I hear they're pretty high, but no one has actually given me any numbers

Not sure Push does Marz but you could call and ask. A rebuilt at Push is usually around $150 and a custom tune is $200+.

Dirtlabs does do Marz and is typically a little cheaper. If you are not looking for a custom tune then dirtlabs is worth talking to.

They are generally around $80 for basic rebuild plus parts and shipping.

DIY. That model and year is a pretty simple fork. This will help:

Pull it apart, clean, refill, ride. You'll need a quart of Golden Spectro 7.5 Weight 125/150 Fork Oil which is plenty for a couple of rebuilds.
