    any work in austin?

I may be moving to Austin shortly, I own and operate my own bicycle shop here in Indiana where I am at now but my wife may have an opportunity that she can't pass up in Austin. I was wondering if any one knew of shops down there that would possibly be interested in my skills or not...i know up here ex shop owners are for the most part shunned from the bicycle industry so I wasn't sure how it worked down there.

    Thanks everyone.

I have no idea but the bike community is really strong down here. If you go to my site, you have links to some of the more popular shops in austin.

That is about a third of them.

Likewise, I couldn't say either way, but to aid in your search you'll find most all of the still open Austin shops, along with some of the surrounding areas, linked here: http://www.mountainbiketx.com/texas/lbs/index6.php

    Good luck!

There may be a lot of bike shops but there are a lot of experienced people looking for work too. I applied at a lot of shops when I moved down here and only got 2 interviews. Seems like most shop jobs get taken by friends of the guys that already work there making it hard to get your foot in the door. I was lucky enough to wander into REI and they happened to be looking for a wrench, I've been there since.

Best thing I can tell you to do is scatter bomb the area and see what happens. I'd be interested to see how it goes.
