    Surly Color Names

This has been covered in various threads but I’m not sure that there’s a topic focused just on Surly color names.

What’re the best color names that Surly has coughed up?
Try to provide photos when you can.

I could keep going but I’ll let that fester. I mean marinate.

The OG Krampus in Swamplight Boogie )had my Cross Check painted the same color after I had disc tabs welded on) or the 1st year Straggler in Unicorn Stew are my favorites.

    Thought it was “Moonlit Swamp”?

Meth Teeth- good lord. I had to check. Some reason I thought it was Mef Toofs, but I think yours is correct.

Somebody find a shot of the Grandpa's Jammie's. I already have a Traverlers Check in Grandma's Linoleum.

I certainly don't need anymore more bikes. The N+1 BS doesn't take into account your home space and has an edge of greed to it- but I might make room for something in the Portapotty Blue.

I think it was Moonlight Swamp (from some searching) but believe Swamplight Boogie is better.

We could maybe make an entire list just of all the black frames they made up names for (isn’t rainbow in the dark on of those?)

Don’t get me started on Rhymes with Orange.
I would have ordered two of those frames if they had been in stock.

Did anyone else read the Bicycle Times article about bike names, where the guy Sov, from Surly, talked about people and the color names? Some vegan concerned about the name "beef gravy brown" and people worried about finding touch up paint for darque black or stretch pants black? He was laughing about how Surly black is always RAL gloss black; you can just use a magic marker to touch frames up.

I can't link to it, as the website was taken down a few months ago, for some reason. It was a pity, I really enjoyed the articles at the site. Maybe you could use the wayback machine? The main point of the article was the karate Monkey name coming from the TV show News Radio.

My cross check is Misty Mountain grey and my first KM was Battleship grey. Love both.

My Moonlander was Space Black which was awesome and I believe their first foray into the use of flake (Krampus followed with swamp green), and then it came out in Champagne(?).

My Norwegian Cheese Brown ECR is fun, but I'm particularly fond of the Rainbow in the Dark & Blacktackular names. Those really crack me up.

Anyone know what new colors are coming?

Surly said they should have Large Krampus Bruised Ego (awesome name) frames in stock in May and they also said to watch their Instagram page for a sneak peak of new colors.

Anyone have any info on new Krampus colors?

Norwegian Cheese Brown? No way that’s a thing.
(I’m not going to search, just going to assume it’s true)

It's one of my favorites and why I bought my 2nd KM!

I also have the mint green KM from 2015 and I bought ithe frame second hand but brand new, just like my RwO KM. Anyone know what the name of that mint green is? I think I a Surly rep refer to it as Forest Truck green during a conversation. I love the color 'cuz it's different.

The legacy Disc Trucker color is "Blue".

    https://surlybikes.com/bikes/legacy/disc_trucker_2012

With the other color names, "Blue" feels like a punchline.

I think we could make a short list of just odd names for their black. The news that they are all the exact same? Well, that's genius.

And for the record, I figured the Norwegian Cheese was a real name, but it's just so brilliant.

Bum Wine Red was amazing until renamed "calimocho" or whatever. It was a dead ringer for Mad Dog 2020 "Red Grape Wine"

Parked my Chum Bucket Red Karate Monkey next to a friend’s new Brick Red Ogre.
Now- the Monkey is sun faded (maybe 11 years old? 12?13?) but I’d sweat they are identical. If they use the same color of black with different names, why wouldn’t they use others too!?
Wonder what other overlaps there are.

Given the more toothless manner Surly is progressing- I imagine that their best names will start becoming more acceptable. Less offensive.
Also anticipate that some hipster exec Millenial will ax the FFF chainstay logo for the same reasons.
